Dr. Subodh Wagle is a Professor in Indian Institute Technology (IIT) Bombay India and is associated with Centre for Technology Alternatives for Rural Areas and Centre for Policy Studies in IIT Bombay. He has a B Tech in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Bombay and a PhD in Energy and Environmental Policy from the University of Delaware, USA. Before joining IIT Bombay, he served at Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, India as a Professor and the Founding Dean of School of Habitat Studies. He also taught at the Centre for Energy and Environmental Policy at the University of Delaware. Previously, he worked at PRAYAS, an independent policy analysis group in India. He is still associated with PRAYAS as a Trustee. The areas of his work include the fields of energy and electricity policy, water policy and regulation, disaster management policy, and sustainable development models. The focus of his current research is: Policy and Institutional Analysis of Last-Mile Problems in Infrastructure and Public Services Sectors.
