Collaborative Labeling and Appliance Standards Program

Collaborative Labeling and Appliance Standards Program (CLASP). Examines ways to implement appliance energy efficiency standards and labels as part of the new energy conservation law in India. LBNL/CLASP staff provides assistance to Indian entities.

What is CLASP? A partnership formed in 1999 among:

  • Alliance to Save Energy
  • International Institute for Energy Conservation (IIEC)
  • Lawrence Berkeley National Lab (LBNL)

Mission:

Increase the design, implementation, coordination and enforcement of energy efficiency standards and labels for residential & commercial appliances, equipment & lighting in developing and transitional countries.

Testing labs, industry, research organizations, universities, NGOs
